SIP URI destinations
Understand the tool, prepare its settings and check how it behaves in your call flow.
What the address means
A SIP URI identifies a SIP destination in the form username@host, optionally followed by :port. The host may be a domain or an IP address. It resembles an email address but routes a call rather than an email.
Using one entry with several numbers
The portal supports the {DID} placeholder, replacing it with the incoming number as listed in number management. For example, {DID}@pbx.example.com lets an appropriately configured receiving PBX distinguish which number was called. Match any required prefix to that receiving system’s numbering plan.
Prepare the receiving system
Create the URI entry, choose the relevant route and verify that the destination accepts calls. Confirm the host, port, network access and numbering format with support. A SIP address is not automatically a registered device, and entering it alone does not make an external PBX reachable.
Tools depend on your enabled account permissions. Ask support if an option is unavailable or you need a configuration review.
