Greetings & prompt recordings

Understand the tool, prepare its settings and check how it behaves in your call flow.

What these recordings are

These are uploaded audio prompts for menus, queues, direct announcements and failover routes. They are distinct from recordings of live conversations. Upload a file in Services → Recordings, then select it in the IVR, queue or number route that should play it.

File format and availability

The portal specifies WAV audio using PCM, 8 kHz, 16-bit, mono. Automatic conversion may be attempted, but a correctly prepared source file is more reliable. Allow up to 60 seconds after upload for distribution before testing playback.

Preview and test

Use the listed test dial code to hear an uploaded prompt, then test it again through the real call flow. An announcement-only destination can play a message instead of taking voicemail; it does not necessarily collect a caller’s reply. Keep a clear next step in the spoken message.

Tools depend on your enabled account permissions. Ask support if an option is unavailable or you need a configuration review.
