Phonebook & caller names

Understand the tool, prepare its settings and check how it behaves in your call flow.

What the phonebook changes

A phonebook entry associates a number with a name. When an incoming caller matches that number, the entry can supply the displayed caller-ID name. For example, a saved customer number can display the customer’s familiar name when it calls.

Create and check an entry

Use Services → Phonebook to save the contact name, number and any useful note. Confirm the number format matches the incoming identity, then test the display on your device. A device’s own contacts or display settings may also affect what you see.

What it does not do

A phonebook name does not verify who is calling, change the number’s owner or automatically create a priority route. Use a caller-ID filter if a matching number should follow a different call path, and use separate authentication for sensitive access.

Tools depend on your enabled account permissions. Ask support if an option is unavailable or you need a configuration review.
