Caller ID filtering
Understand the tool, prepare its settings and check how it behaves in your call flow.
What it does
Caller-ID filters change incoming routing when the caller’s number matches a rule. The portal supports anonymous identity, invalid North American number formats and a chosen number or pattern. These are routing rules, not proof of a caller’s identity.
Prepare the rule
Create the intended destination first, then define the matching caller ID and routing action. For example, a known customer can be routed to a priority forwarding entry. An area-code pattern can send callers to a recorded announcement with your local contact number.
Check before relying on it
Test a matching caller, a nonmatching caller and any anonymous-call rule. Avoid broad patterns that divert legitimate customers. Caller ID can be withheld or spoofed, so use authentication separately for privileged calling access. Forwarding destinations still incur their normal call charges.
Tools depend on your enabled account permissions. Ask support if an option is unavailable or you need a configuration review.
